June marks one of the major school holidays of the Singaporean school calendar, so there’s plenty of kid-friendly activities going on this month – perfect if you’ve got the young ones with you!
Sentosa FunFest
Beach bums need to make their way down to Palawan Beach, stat. The fine white sand and clear waters make it perfect for lounging, but now that it’s hosting the Sentosa FunFest, there’s so much more to do! Conquer obstacle courses, splash through water-based adventures, pull your weight in the Bungee Run, find your way out of inflatable mazes and more. Wind down in the F&B area when you get hungry or thirsty. Do note that last entry to the Sentosa FunFest is at 4.30pm.

Act 3i Festival for Children
Budding theatregoers won’t want to miss the Act 3i Festival for Children. Conducted by Act 3 International, the Festival worked with renowned and emerging children’s theatre companies from Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Italy and the UK to bring these exploratory performances to Singapore. Interactive and sensory experiences await!

Shaking It With Shakespeare
To mark the 400th death anniversary of William Shakespeare, Singapore Philatelic Museum (SPM) is presenting the “Shaking It With Shakespeare” exhibition and special programmes to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of the world’s greatest playwright. Through over 400 stamps and philatelic materials issued by 70 countries, century-old picture postcards, original books from Shakespeare’s time, historical Tudor era replicas and animal specimens, the activity-based and fun-filled exhibition invites families to uncover nuggets of information about the literary giant. The philatelic tribute to ‘the Bard’ will run from 14 May 2016 to 15 January 2017 at the SPM. The exhibition is one of the offerings of the National Heritage Board’s Children’s Season 2016, and is one of the Shakespeare Lives programmes jointly organised by the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign.

Children’s Season 2016

Couple's Perfume Workshop
For a change of pace, why not attend a perfumery workshop conducted by Je T'aime Perfumery Singapore? These intimate workshops are led by founder Ms Prachi Saini Garg, and she will lead the way for you to distil your creativity and personality into a bottle of fragrance. Je T'aime Perfumery also plays a part in preserving the scents of native orchids of Singapore. Out of an approximate 220 species, only 80 have survived to present day. Of these 80 species, Je T'aime Perfumery were able to recreate the scents of 50 of these. You can make a trip down to smell these precious oils, even if you don’t wish to make perfumes out of them. Just contact Je T'aime Perfumery to set up a date.

Shrek the Musical
The musical adaptation of the hit Dreamworks animated movie Shrek is now showing in Singapore! The story of looking beyond the surface to what lies underneath in this smart, funny fairytale is brought to life with brand new songs. Revisit the story where the feisty princess gets rescued from her tower by a grumpy ogre, and prince charming doesn’t quite live up to expectations. Throw in a chatty donkey, pathological liar, cookies with attitudes and other fairytale misfits, and you’ve got a mess that needs a hero to sort it all out.

Footwork
There’s no better way to fall in love with dance than to try dancing yourself. Footwork, a series of introductory dance workshops, gives you the opportunity to learn popular dances from the experts and pick up some moves in the months leading up to the da:ns festival, held from 13 to 23 October. Beerfest Asia 2016
