South East Asian Film Festival
Back for the third year running, the South East Asian Film Festival once again showcases the most exciting cinematic work from South East Asia. More than just a selection of films, some screenings will actually be followed by discussions with the film-makers. This is a great way to gain further insight into the director’s creative process. If you’re into film as an art form then this is a perfect opportunity to experience it from a South East Asian perspective.

Big Wig Festival
Fans of real hip hop rejoice. Instead of choosing the latest pop star rappers, the organizers of the first Big Wig Festival have chosen some of the most respected musicians in the hip hop genre. Co-headlining the event is New York’s Pharoahe Monch and The Pharcyde from South Central Los Angeles. Both acts are known for their ground-breaking hip hop music over the last 20 years. The Big Wig Festival also features a host of local acts showcasing the best of Singaporean hip hop.

Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest
Wild Rice’s award winning production of the classic Oscar Wilde play The Importance of Being Earnest returns to the stage this April. First staged in 1895, The Importance of Being Earnest is still as funny and popular today as it was on its debut 113 years ago. Directed by Glen Goei, this latest production puts a spin on things by using an all-male cast, furthering the play’s themes of gender and identity. Wild Rice's 2009 production was adored by critics and the public, so make sure you don't miss this latest version.

Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb
The ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay transforms into Ancient Egypt with over 100 artefacts, including six preserved mummies, being flown in from the British Museum. Also showing is a 3D movie that will show you the “virtual unwrapping” of the 3,000-year old mummy of Egyptian temple priest Nesperennub. The movie will reveal the mysteries of his life complete with state-of-the-art facial reconstruction. Ancient Egypt is still one of the most captivating parts of human history so this exhibition should not be missed.
