Christmas on A Great Street

Orchard Road’s annual Christmas lightup is one of the highlights of the holiday season. This year, Orchard Road transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland with twinkling stars and gems. The Nutcracker

The Singapore Dance Theatre will be performing the classic Christmas ballet The Nutcracker this December. However, this version of the beloved ballet is set in pre-WWI, turn-of-the-century Shanghai. Be mesmerised by Clara’s adventures with the Nutcracker Prince as they defeat the King Rat and embark on a magical journey through the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets, where Clara is enchanted with sights of Spain, France, Istanbul, Russia, China and Holland and later greeted by the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince.

Singapore largest gaming event is back for the fifth time. Gamers can check out the game showcases, or try out games they might have missed during the year at the free play zone which features the latest and classic game consoles. Visitors can also participate in the Freeing SG game, where participants have 15 minutes to find the hints and solve to clues to escape a locked room, or face the unpleasant consequences of failure. Naturally, there will also be game competitions, a cosplay competition and other performances at License2Play.

SSO Christmas Concerts

Spend an evening with aural treats at the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas concert. In conjunction with the Singapore Symphony Chorus and the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir, this concert will feature both tradition and not-so-traditional Christmas music and songs. From Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to music by John Williams from the movie Home Alone and sing along Christmas carols, the range of music is sure to bring the Christmas spirit to you.

ZoukOut 2013

ZoukOut is back! Revellers from all over Asia have been thronging to Singapore for this outdoor dance party for over a decade, and for good reason. The DJ lineup gets better and hotter every year. From electro and trance to pop and hip hop, this two night party will have thousands of partygoers dancing until the sun comes up. EOY 2013 Cosplay Festival

Calling all otaku! Head down to Marina Barrage for the EOY 2013 Cosplay Festival. Not only will you see the best of the region’s cosplayers, you will also be able to see Nico Nico dancer Wata live in person. If you’re thirsty, head to Doki Doki Hearts Café, the character café where all the café staff will be cosplaying various characters. You can also visit BonJapan’s Rilakkuma café where everything is Rilakkuma-themed. To get your Japanese movie fix, join the Suspect X and Midsummer’s Equation movie marathon.

Ding Yi Chinese Chamber Music Festival

The inaugural Ding Yi Chinese Chamber Music Festival is directed by renowned conductor, Mr Quek Ling Kiong, and aims to increase awareness and appreciation of Chinese chamber music in Singapore. The Macau Chinese Orchestra’s Traditional Quintet is in Singapore as part of the festival, and they will present two unique forms of regional music from South China. The programme includes the lyrical sounds of Cantonese instrumental music, as well as Jiang Nan Si Zhu (silk and bamboo) music, commonly associated with old teahouses of the Jiangsu.
