The numerous arts and music festivals that will be held throughout the month will keep any aficionado busy, with various local, regional and international acts waiting for your patronage.


"Touch Mi" Sammi Cheng Live In Singapore 2015

Cantopop Queen Sammi Cheng is in Singapore after a 5-year hiatus. Following up on her 2010 “Love Mi” tour, her “Touch Mi” tour promises to bring the singer-actress’ trademark high-energy, explosive performance to the Singapore stage once again. Sammi will be performing songs such as Bang Bang Bang and 信者得爱, alongside all-time hits 舍不得你, 不要惊动爱情 and 终身美丽. This one-night-only performance is definitely a must-see for Sammi fans!

Singapore International Festival of Arts 2015

Now in its 38th year, the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) is a long-standing staple of the local arts scene. Bringing together both local and international artists, festival-goers can take their pick of performances. From acts rooted in Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-cultural landscape – such as stand-up comedy Kumar’s Living Together – to performances rooted in a broader, shared human experience, SIFA is the festival to attend whether you are looking for theatre, dance, recitals or works that transcend simple categorisation.

National Day Parade

The culmination and highlight of the year’s SG50 celebrations is the National Day Parade. Tickets to the National Day Parade this year are nigh impossible to get, but don’t worry, there are plenty of other places to celebrate! Keep an eye out for our articles on National Day Parade highlights, events happening during the Jubilee Weekend, and where the best places to watch the fireworks are! Live screenings will also be broadcasted at various locations all over the island and on TV on multiple channels so you’ve no excuse to miss this extravaganza.

Pesta Raya Malay Festival of Art

Situated in the Malay Archipelego, Malay arts and culture plays a very big part in Singapore’s cultural heritage. What better way to experience this than to attend some of the performances at Peta Raya, the Malay Festival of Arts? Learn about Singapore’s first President, Yusof Ishak, in the play YUSOF, or enjoy the golden hits of songstress Nona Asiah from the 1940s and 1050s in Si Cempaka Biru – Celebrating the Life of Nona Asiah. Want something more contemporary? Malaysia's most eclectic award-winning hip hop artist, songwriter and producer Altimet will be showcasing his talents at Pesta Raya too!

SINGAPORE 2015 World Stamp Exhibition

SINGAPORE 2015 is the third World Stamp Exhibition to be held in Singapore, held in conjunction with Singapore’s 50th year of independence. Supported by the Federation lnternationale de Philatelie (FIP) and the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), SINGAPORE 2015 will have on display archives from the Singapore Philatelic Museum, exhibits charting 180 years of postal history in Singapore and international award-winning collections. A treat for philatelists and laypersons with an interest in history alike, there will also be an auction held during the exhibition, the highlight of which is an extremely rare Collar Chain and Badge of the Order of the Orchid Blossom.

IGNITE! Music Festival

This annual, student-driven festival is back! Attracting 14,000 gig goers last year, IGNITE! is all set to be bigger and better than ever before. A festival that indie music lovers should not miss, the band line-up includes performers from a range of genres. Whether you’re into alternative soul, funk, electronic pop, post rock, metal, progressive rock or rap, there’s something for you. National Geographic Live Presents: My Nine Lives with Steve Winter

The name Steve Winter will be familiar to big cat lovers. National Geographic photographer extraordinaire, Steve Winter has most recently been awarded the World Press Photo of the Year for Nature and has been awarded other top photojournalism awards including BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He will be in Singapore to talk about his amazing experiences documenting big cats and the efforts taken to save them. Be inspired at this one-night-only session where you can experience his captivating tales as only he can tell them.

December Rains The Musical 雨季

Staged by award-winning production company Toy Factory, December Rains is the grandest of the productions the company is putting up to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in 2015. A tender tale of love and hope, December Rains is a Chinese musical set against a backdrop of 1950s Singapore and all it entailed – social unrest, a marriage of convenience and parental disapproval. With music by local Chinese pop pioneer Liang Wern Fook and composer-singer Jimmy Ye, be prepared to have your heartstrings tugged. Performed in Chinese with English surtitles, language will not be a barrier to your enjoyment of this musical.
