Here’s another reason to mark Singapore down as one of your “Must-Go Places” on your travel list.

Just in time for our Golden Jubilee Celebrations, Singapore has been ranked as the Number 1 place to visit in Asia by the New York Times in their 52 Places to go in 2015 list. Together with popular tourist hotspots like Milan and Cuba, our little island has been ranked as one of the top travel destinations in the world, coming in at 6th place.

The American newspaper also highlighted our spectacular New Year’s Eve Bash at Marina Bay as well as the highly anticipated National Day Parade, which we’re pretty sure is going to be the grandest to date!

In their article How We Chose Our List, NYT shared that, out of hundreds of ideas from their contributing writers, final selections were made by looking at destinations they expected to be “particularly compelling in the coming year”. With major events like SG50, the Chingay Parade (link to the visitors.sg article about Chingay), Jubilee Walk – an 8km-long art trail, and more, compelling is an understatement!

Like NYT says, “It’s a year-long birthday party, and the world is invited”, so book your flights, pack your suitcase, and come celebrate our 50th birthday with us!

Here's a video of Singapore's iconic Gardens by the Bay. Enjoy!
