Cat Museum – The Purr-fect Hangout for Cat Lovers

Located in a quaint heritage shophouse along Purvis Street is Lion City Kitty™, Singapore’s very first cat museum. Here’s where you can learn more about your favourite furry friends, play with them, take photographs, and perhaps even bond with one enough to have it join your family!

The founder of the Cat Museum, Ms Jessica Seet, started this with the aim to do good for the cat community.

“Our mission as a social enterprise is to change the community's mindset towards cats and animals, and to create an interest in our local kitties who, like us, are the descendants of their ‘pawfathers’. We also want to inspire our local artistic community to create art around the real cats on our premises, and find homes for the orphaned kitties, while working closely with the Cat Welfare Society in Singapore.”

The Cat Museum

The Cat Museum is located on the second level of the shophouse, and showcases the history of cats around the world, touching stories of cats and their humans, as well as the important roles they play in each community. At the Cat Museum, visitors can also admire specially curated cat photographs and arts and crafts from around the world.

The Muses

If you’re looking for a new furry friend, you may just find your best companion at the Muses gallery, on the third level. One of the highlights of Muses are orphaned cats looking for permanent homes. Here, visitors can play, take photographs with the cats and perhaps bring home to be part of their family.

“With this space, our aim is to socialize the cats in an ideal home environment and get them ready to join a family. Potential adopters can see the cats in their most natural state and also learn from the CWS volunteers,” said Ms Seet.

The Mansion

Perched on the top floor of the shophouse is the Mansion, a sprawling playground for lucky felines, most of whom are rescued cats – who have found their forever home – complete with toys, scratching posts and invisible grills to keep them safe indoors.

Make your way out through the stairwell and you will see a gallery of “Famous Felines” – cats with the likes of Puss in Boots, Garfield and Grumpy Cat.
